Anna sidelined with illness, but determined to rejoin March

The right wing can't stop Anna Graves from Marching for California's Future. Unfortunately, Anna encountered the one thing that can: germs.

The toll of shaking hands with hundreds of people and sleeping at campgrounds and RV parks -- not to mention the nearly 100 miles she walked in sometimes chilly weather -- caught up with Anna, who became sick with a cold and severe ear infection. She returned home to Berkeley last Thursday to recover.

On Monday, the core marcher and retired teacher said that thanks to antibiotics "today is the first day I feel like a human. I'm not so congested.

"It really makes me mad because I didn't want to leave," she said from home. "I couldn't figure out why I had all this pain from a cold; it turns out a I had a raging ear infection. I'm feeling so much better today."

Anna said she hopes to return to the march within one to two weeks.
