Juvenile probation officer and marcher Irene Gonzalez sets the record straight about California's budget in this ad by the California Federation of Teachers that aired over the weekend. Irene explain that, contrary to the claims of a handful of extreme legislators, our budget crisis was brought about as a result of political choices, not overspending. In the last 15 years, Sacramento has lavished millionaires with large tax cuts. Rather than asking for sacrifice from the wealthiest few, the radical minority in the legislature is forcing spending cuts that will hurt our kids.
