Stacey Magorian's daughter received a pink slip for her commitment to Education

Day 5 Morning. Overcast, no rain in the forecast, and we're gearing up for a 7.5 mile march to Delano. We stayed at McFarland Middle School last night. I ended up sleeping outside. I met Casey Magorian, 5th generation from McFarland, his dad graduated class of '41. Casey is a maintenance worker for McFarland School District. His daughter Kassie Magorian teaches 3rd grade in Bakersfield. She has a credential, and for her commitment to Education, she received a pink slip -- laid off due to budget cuts. Let's get Sacramento to properly fund Education, so we won't be 47th in the nation in per pupil spending, and Educators such as Kassie are given the opportunity to do what they love: teach.
