When We're Not Walking, Edition 2
After a long 16.7 miles from Escalon to Manteca, Jim, Gavin, Raul and I went to a minor league baseball game in Modesto. The Nuts, as they call them, squared off against the San Jose Giants. There's something to be said for getting to a game in the 3rd inning and paying 10 bucks a pop for seats four rows from the field. I paid almost 10 bucks for small fries and a drink from a "McDonalds" at the Staples Center in Los Angeles a few weeks before the march started. Here, hot dogs--full real, hot dogs--were $2.50 each. Jim also remarked that he was able to buy a Nuts hat, jersey and other gear without breaking his wallet.
The game itself was actually very exciting. The Nuts actually tied it 4 to 4 in the bottom of the 8th but then they retracted the run. Still not sure why. So the mighty Modesto Nuts fell.
