Yesterday we left Tulare well-rested and walked 14.7 miles to Visalia. We were joined by Tony Madrigal who is a City Councilmember in San Jose, home to Jenn Laskin.

Last Friday, we arrived in Tulare. We stayed at a RV park with full showers, laundry and internet access. Marchers spent the weekend catching up on e-mails, blogging, uploading photos and recuperating. On Saturday we drove to a couple of malls in downtown Tulare and handed out petitions for the ballot measure to overturn the 2/3 majority requirement for passing a budget. We had the opportunity to really engage with local residents. Miguel Contreras' brother even stopped by and told us he was looking forward to our arrival in Dinuba on Thursday.

A Tipton native, Rosa Games was having lunch in her home off Road 112. We were en route to Tulare from Pixley via the same road. According to Rosa, her husband saw us down the street, frantically called her and told her "whatever you're eating, bring it to the marchers!" Her husband had heard about our march on Univision/Noticias 39. A fantastic reporter spent all of Wednesday covering our march from her truck. She interviewed Irene Gonzalez.
